for everyone
There has been quite a bit of hysteria regarding end of the world predictions for 2012 and prophecies. It's not surprising that so many people are researching to find their own versions of fact and fiction surrounding this contentious subject. Millions of pages in print and on the Internet discuss different 2012 predictions. A person could devote a lifetime trying to make sense out of all the forums devoted to the 2012 question. The more you hear, the more confusing it can be.

The 2012 end of the world prediction stems from the ancient Mayans who devised a calendar called The Long Count Mayan calendar that has as its last year, the year 2012. According to this calendar, the end is set to occur during the winter solstice on December 21. So because of this, there are many people who are predicting horrible events which are certain to occur and which will culminate in our world being destroyed. 2012 predictions point to major social and political turmoil occurring all around the world, with the war of Armageddon taking place in the middle east. Those who believe that Nostradamus accurately predicted World Wars one and two, see this as the third world war he mentions in his writings. This "World War III" will cause millions of deaths around the world, according to the predictions.

Since history isn't really clear on how the Mayan people lived, then this prophecy may just be conjecture. It could be something that was made up by a historian not really fully understanding what the Mayan symbols and numbers really meant. Those who believe in the 2012 prophecy also tend to point to past events that seem to match up with significant past predictions based on the Mayan calendar, many of which have come true. It is claimed that is evidence that what they believe in will actually occur. But this is readily dismissed as pure coincidence and nothing more.

It is easy see why many think that 2012 end of the world is more than a possibility but for many more there is simply just not enough evidence to support that view. Thus no one really knows what will happen and hence if it is true or false. End of the World Predictions
